July 2017 SCARC meeting

The Story County Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) will meet on Thursday, July 6, 2017. The meeting will include a review of Field Day 2017 and a discussion of a club activity or operating day in conjunction with the Iowa QSO Party coming up in the fall.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in North Conference Rooms A and B on the first floor of Mary Greeley Medical Center. Parking is available near the northeast entrance. This meeting is free and open to the public.

Field Day 2017

Members of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise June 24 – 25 at Hickory Grove Park in Colo IA. Club members will begin operating at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 24th at the Snow Bunting Lodge at Hickory Grove Park (67423 255th St, Colo) and will operate continuously for 24 hours.

Visitors of all ages are welcome and will also have an opportunity to participate in Field Day by making brief contacts on the air with the coaching assistance of one of the club’s FCC-licensed operators.

Next SCARC club meeting on June 1

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Clint Miller, KC0JUO, will lead a discussion of the club's preparation for Field Day 2017.

The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in North Conference Rooms A and B on the first floor of Mary Greeley Medical Center. Parking is available near the MGMC northeast entrance. This meeting is free and open to the public.
