The next meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be at 7:30 pm, Thursday, September 4, 2014. The program for the September SCARC meeting will be show and tell. Bring something interesting and tell us all about it (treasure found at a hamfest, interesting QSL or photo, etc.). Show and Tell will be preceded by a discussion of SCARC plans for the coming year and suggestions for meeting programs.

The meeting will be at a special place this month only: The Ames Red Cross building at 426 5th St # 101 Ames.

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will not have an August meeting. The next meeting will be September 4, 2014. More details about this meeting will be posted later.

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will be conducting its annual Field Day operation on June 28 and 29. This is an operating event to demonstrate emergency communications effectiveness and communicate with other clubs and groups having similar operations around the country. Everyone is invited to attend. We plan to have a “Get on the air” station where unlicensed visitors can experience the thrill of experiencing ham radio communications. The operation will run from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday.
