The Story County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday, April 02, at 7:00 PM with an in-person gathering in Grand Room 1 at Northcrest Community combined with an online meeting via Microsoft Teams.
Bill Boswell, WI0JK, will present “From Driveway EME to VME and Interstellar Communications” to provide an update on his small-station Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) efforts, highlighting new experiences operating on 23 cm from his backyard and driveway setups. He will also share practical insights into weak-signal techniques, station optimization, and what today’s amateurs can achieve with limited space and power. The talk will then zoom out to the scale of deep space communications, highlighting recent Amateur Radio experiments with Venus and how NASA uses its Deep Space Network to reach interstellar space.
