The Story County Amateur Radio Club will be conducting its annual Field Day operation on June 28 and 29. This is an operating event to demonstrate emergency communications effectiveness and communicate with other clubs and groups having similar operations around the country. Everyone is invited to attend. We plan to have a “Get on the air” station where unlicensed visitors can experience the thrill of experiencing ham radio communications. The operation will run from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday. Antenna setup will start at 6pm on Friday June 27 and setup will continue at 10 am on Saturday morning.
This year’s operation will be held at the Ames Red Cross building at 426th 5th Street in Ames.
