April 6: “Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries for Amateur Radio - Care, Feeding, and Construction” by Paul Cowley, WØYR.

The Story County Amateur Radio Club will meet on Thursday, April 6, at 7:00 PM. Paul Cowley, W0YR, will deliver a presentation titled “Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries for Amateur Radio - Care, Feeding, and Construction” where he will discuss why Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are particularly well-suited to Amateur Radio applications, and how to maximize their performance. He will also share information and insights gained while building a 300Ah LFP battery from individual cells imported from China.

Paul has been licensed since 1993, originally holding the callsign KB7VML and presently W0YR. He has a passion for teaching and volunteering within the Amateur community and presently serves as the ARRL ARES District Emergency Coordinator for Iowa District 1, and has served as President of SCARC since 2015.

This meeting will be a "hybrid" meeting, with an in-person gathering in Grand Room 1 at Northcrest Community combined with an online meeting via Microsoft Teams.
